Just released, initial jobless claims for the week ending August 22 decreased by 4,000 to 203,000 (Briefing.com consensus 210,000) from last week's revised total of 207,000 (revised from 206,000).
Continuing jobless claims for the week ending August 15 increased by 18,000 to 1.778 million from last week's revised total of 1.796 million (from 1.799 million).
The July advance international trade in goods deficit widened to $118.8 billion from $101.5 billion in June. July advance retail inventories increased 0.7% following no change in June, while advance wholesale inventories rose 1.3% after increasing 0.3% in June.
