The defensive health care (+1.4%) and consumer staples (+1.4%) sectors are homing in on solid gains, with Kroger (KR 60.67, +2.18, +3.73%) extending last week's post-earnings momentum.
Meanwhile, the communication services sector (+2.7%) remains on track for the widest gain as Alphabet (GOOG 344.60, +9.14, +2.73%) and Meta Platforms (META 666.98, +18.95, +2.92%) are mega-cap standouts.
