[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue to carve out session lows as weakness across semiconductor and other technology stocks weighs on the broader market.

Cybersecurity stocks are moving sharply in the opposite direction, however, as the AI safety debate has highlighted the potential for increasingly autonomous AI systems to create new cyber threats. A recent Hugging Face incident, in which a swarm of OpenAI agents reportedly breached the platform during a cybersecurity exercise, has added to those concerns and helped fuel sizable gains in CrowdStrike (CRWD 237.12, +30.38, +14.69%), Zscaler (ZS 187.19, +22.65, +13.76%), and Palo Alto Networks (PANW 372.01, +41.36, +12.51%).

The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV) is up 3.9%.
