[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+1.1%), Nasdaq Composite (+1.7%), and DJIA (+0.6%) are holding on to their solid opening gains.
Generac (GNRC 207.44, +32.34, +18.47%) is the top-moving S&P 500 component this morning after announcing that it issued a warrant to Amazon (AMZN 252.20, +6.24, +2.54%) to acquire up to 1,693,745 shares at an exercise price of $200.9266 per share. Generac said 307,954 warrant shares vested immediately, with the remaining balance vesting over the term of the warrant in multiple tranches contingent upon aggregate gross payments received by the company for backup power generators for Amazon data centers, up to a total of $8 billion. Generac and Amazon also entered into a long-term supply agreement, with initial deliveries of backup generators expected to total $2.4 billion in 2027 and 2028. The gain helps the industrials sector (+0.5%) move modestly higher this morning.
Elsewhere in the sector, Caterpillar (CAT 801.94, +19.22, +2.46%) is a standout Dow component.
